Myofascial Pain Syndrome
Myofascial pain syndrome (MPS), also known as chronic myofascial pain (CMP), is a chronic form of muscle pain, in which someone experiences sensitive points in their muscles, referred to as “trigger points”. There can be many different triggers for this pain, such as when the affected area is touched, or even food allergies, and this debilitating pain may quickly spread throughout the muscle.Myofascial pain caused by trigger points has been linked to:
- jaw pain
- neck pain
- lower back pain
- pelvic pain
- leg and arm pain
- headaches
- sleeplessness
